What is "house-call" grooming?
House-call grooming is the best way to pamper your pooch! They never have to leave the house to receive the best grooming around. I come to you and groom your pet right there in the safety and comfort of their own home.
This is not to be confused with mobile groomers, who have a van or trailer with a shop set up in it. Instead, we come into your home and groom right there in the bathroom or kitchen.

What should I provide you with?
The only thing I need for grooming is access to an outlet (with two available plugs), two large towels (any two will do) and a tub or large sink with warm running water. If it is a sink, it must have a sprayer that can be extended. If it is a tub, I will need to have a cup or a shower head that can be removed or extended.
What are some of the benefits of house-call grooming?
- Your pet will be comfortable. They will not have to leave the people, places, and smells that they are used to. Grooming can be very stressful on pets, and their people too, so you can rest assured, knowing your pet is safe and sound with a loving groomer who pays attention to the customers wants.
- Your pet will not be exposed to the diseases that regular shops or vans may carry. In a normal shop, they may groom upwards of 25 dogs per day. The Spaw, on the other hand, rarely grooms for more than two clients per day. And, should we groom a dog that is sick, we do not schedule any other appointments for that day, so the disease does not spread to your pet.
- Your pet will not be caged. In shops, your pet could be left in a cage for hours before they a groomed, with no outside time to relieve themselves. This is very stressful on well trained dogs, especially if they have to sit in the cage with their floor soiled.
- The same groomer every time! With The Spaw grooming, your pet will never have to meet a new groomer and try to adjust to their techniques. Instead, they will get the same groomer every time, so eventually they will learn to love the groomer and tolerate the grooming!
About Me, Emily
I am a self-trained groomer who has been in the business for five years. I have groomed everything from Bedlington Terriers to White Shepherds. I love what I do and I don't think I would ever change career fields. I hope to go to the Paragon School for Grooming in Michigan. I have a pampered Bichon Frise puppy named Bella, a very lazy old Labrador mix named Dottie, and our newest addition - a sweet little Cairn terrier mix named Tobias (Tobi); as well as plenty of shelter babies that I consider my own! I have been volunteering at the Humane Educational Society since April of 2010, and I love every minute of it. Seeing my groomed babies get adopted makes me realize why I love this business so much!
